Engineered Structural Reliability

Titan Cut provides proven reliability from day one. Our long-life patterned panels combine top service with performance under extreme conditions—like high winds, snow loads, and UV exposure at elevation.

Using advanced finite element modeling, fatigue testing, and ASTM-standard materials, our panels exceed code requirements for decades of low-maintenance durability.

Correlation Between Pattern Design and Panel Strength

TitanCut's extensive R&D combining laser-cutting expertise with a lot of empirical data points on irregular patterns in sheet metal, precisely defines the limits of structural performance. We've executed hundreds of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations across diverse pattern geometries, sheet sizes, materials and thicknesses to map load paths, stress concentrations, and failure modes like buckling or fatigue.

Key insights include how cutout patterns induce directional stiffness variations, optimizing strength-to-weight ratios, span and load boundaries with iterative FEA informs novel topologies that enhance rigidity without excess material removal.

These findings enable bespoke structural recommendations, with custom FEA reports delivered per project to validate designs, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with all standards.

Colors and Finishes

There is a range of colors and finishes available for every laser-cut screen. They come in different options—standard or custom*, rustic or raw—which gives you the freedom to get creative and design your metal artwork exactly as you envision it.

Corten steel never completely stops rusting. The weathering process begins after the panel is installed, eventually slowing down. From that point, the finish acts as a protective coating for the base metal.

All our powders are top quality and UV-stable, ensuring they last. Standard colors are available for regular (mild) steel and aluminum panels, but you're free to choose a color that matches your space—we'll happily help with any requirements.

Materials

Aluminium (5052 Alloy)

  • Aluminum is a lightweight material with low density and a natural resistance to corrosion. Aluminum and its alloys are widely used across industries
  • Aluminum has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel, making it highly flexible and easy to work with. One of its key advantages is its ability to be formed into any shape or size, serving both functional and decorative purposes.
  • Outdoor Protection: Aluminum needs protection before exposure to harsh conditions. Standard powder coating won't suffice for panels directly exposed to weather like rain, snow, or sunlight. For outdoor use in such conditions, we offer a special chemical pretreatment before powder coating—this is a customized request.
  • Browse our gallery or contact us if you don't see what you're looking for. Our expert team will advise you and help create the perfect screen for your needs.
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum panel size: 55″ x 139″
    • Thickness: 16 GA (.080”) to 13 GA (.190”) – other thicknesses available on request
    • Finish: Powder coated

Corten Steel (A606 Alloy)

  • Corten steel, or weathering steel, is a low-alloy steel developed in the 1930s by U.S. Steel (branded COR-TEN). It forms a stable, rust-like patina of iron oxyhydroxides via wet-dry cycles, stabilizing in 2–5 years. This barrier cuts corrosion to ~1/10th that of mild steel, self-heals, and needs no painting in most environments.
  • The patina shifts from orange-brown to deep rust-red or brown, varying by pollution, rain, humidity, sea proximity, and orientation. It requires consistent moisture/oxygen exposure for even development; sheltered spots weather unevenly. This creates a prized, evolving aesthetic in architecture.
  • Ideal Applications:
    • Excels in exposed exterior uses:
    • Cladding, facades, rain screens.
    • Bridges, sculptures (e.g., Angel of the North, UK).
    • Roofing, siding, garden features, railings, planters.
  • Avoid submerged, high-chloride marine, or acidic sites without protection.
  • Specifications:
    • Max panel: 55″ × 139″; customs available.
    • Thickness: 14 GA (0.075”) to 7 GA (0.179); heavier/custom on request.
    • Finishes: Rustic, laser-cut, perforated, pre-weathered.

Mild Steel (A653)

  • Steel is durable, safe, cost-effective, and resistant to rot, making it a popular choice. However, mild steel requires protection before exposure to harsh conditions. Standard powder coating won't suffice for outdoor panels directly exposed to weather like rain, snow, or sunlight.
  • Mild steel—iron alloyed with a low carbon content—is the most important commercial steel alloy. It's used in nearly every industry worldwide, from chemical and automotive to aircraft and aerospace.
  • For outdoor use with direct weather exposure, we can accommodate this as a customized request. We'll apply a special chemical pretreatment before powder coating to ensure lasting protection.
  • Choose from our standard colors or any non-standard color—it's up to you and your imagination. Non-standard colors incur an extra charge.
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum panel size: 55″ x 139″
  • Thickness: 14 GA (0.075″) to 7 GA (0.179″)—other thicknesses available on request
  • Finish: Powder coated

Stainless Steel (304, 316)

  • Stainless steel differs from carbon steel due to its chromium content, which provides superior resistance to rust, staining, and corrosion compared to regular steel. It requires low maintenance, making it an ideal material for a wide range of practical and aesthetic applications.
  • Steel is easy to bend and weld, allowing it to fit diverse installations. Our steel panels work well for both interior and exterior use, with a brushed surface finish available in numerous colors and effects.
  • We typically use 304 stainless steel for interior applications, as it is substantially more affordable. For exteriors, we recommend 316 stainless steel, which offers greater corrosion resistance. 316 is available on request.
  • Specifications:
    • Maximum panel size: 55″ x 139″
  • Thickness: 14 GA (0.075″) to 8 GA (0.164″) – other thicknesses available on request
  • Finish: Brushed (#4 finish)

Lighting

Laser-cut panels allow light to pass through, creating mood and ambiance ideal for any area. For stunning lighting effects, consider adding backlighting to your laser-cut panel. Every screen—whether ready-made or custom-made—can have lighting added.

With a simple addition of a Lexan sheet and LED lights, we can bring not just the screen to life, but the whole room. The best and most popular way to achieve this is to let us handle the entire process. We'll install LED lights behind the screen and add Lexan to ensure the light stays uniform. You can combine several colors or choose one dominant shade for the best look during the day and dramatic effects at night. These panels come with a 24V, 5A power supply.
